MAS 2022 Details
Registration for MAS Summer Camp Program begins April 26th for children ages 7-13. Limited to a maximum of 30 students per session. Small group instruction will take place in all of our sessions. We will accept childcare vouchers and provide scholarships for families in need.
MCCLA 2022 MAS Summer Camp will offer visual and performing arts programs, along with literacy through the arts. This year each session will focus on a different artform.
Cost: $250 per session, includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks
Hours: 9am to 4pm
- Session #1: June 13-17
- Session #2: June 20-24
- Session #3: June 27- July 1st
- Session #4: July 11-15
- Session #5: July 18-22
- Session #6: July 25-29
MAS Program 2020
Multicultural Arts Summer Youth Program offers kids an immersive experience in cultural arts. For the 29th consecutive year, the Mission Cultural Center will introduce children and youth (ages 7-13) to the various artistic disciplines and local artists in a dynamic and entertaining summer program. Participants will develop hands-on experience with the use of tools and materials related to the chosen artistic discipline, and will collaborate in a final exhibition/performance, entertaining participants’ families and the local community. Participants will be pre-assigned to classes according to their area of interest and availability.
Some classes previously offered included: Yoga, various types of dance, Arts & Crafts, Capoeira, Theater, Percussion, Fashion Design, and more.
Lunch will be provided by DCYF.
For youth ages 7 to 13.
- 1st Session: June 8th - July 3rd, 2020
- 2nd Session: July 6th - July 31st, 2020
- $500 per Session (4 weeks)
- $50 Sibling Discount

- Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm
- Doors open & check-in begins at 8:30am
- Program starts at 9:00am

El programa de Artes Multicultural de Verano para Jóvenes ofrece a los estudiantes una experiencia inmersiva en las artes.
Por 29 años consecutivos, el MCCLA presenta MAS, un campamento de verano para jovenes (edades 7-13), introduciendolos a las diversas disciplinas artísticas en un programa dinámico y entretenido. Los Participantes desarrollan una experiencia práctica con el uso de herramientas y materiales relacionados con la disciplina artística elegida, y colaborarán en una presentación final, entreteniendo a las familias de los participantes y a la comunidad local. Los participantes serán pre-asignados a las clases según su área de interés y disponibilidad.
Algunas de las clases que se han ofrecido previamente han incluido: Yoga, Hip Hop, Arte y Artesanía, teatro, Cajón, Folklórico, Capoeira, Diseño de Moda, Latin Grooves, Y más!

MAS Financial Aid and Scholarship Opportunities
Financial Aid Opportunities for 6th-8th Grade Students
The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts is proud to partner with The Youth Opportunity Scholarships (YOS) program to provide funding to Bay Area Middle School students to pursue inspiring extracurricular enrichment activities. Our goal is to provide opportunities for youth to pursue a passion of their choosing beyond the classroom.
If you are a low-income youth enrolled in the 6th-8th grade at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Art’s MAS youth program, you can apply for a Youth Opportunity scholarship to try something new!
The Youth Opportunity Scholarship program pays for the one MAS program session. For more information, including questions on how to apply please visit the Youth Opportunity Scholarships website. Scholarships are limited; please consider submitting the application material early.
How to apply:
- Complete the application for MAS Youth Program
- Complete the Youth Opportunity Scholarship application by May 31st, including the following:
- YOS Application
- Personal Statement
- Proof of Financial Need, for example: Letter of Free/Reduced Lunch, PG&E Discount Program, Notice of Medi-Cal Eligibility, etc.
- Submit all required material to Guillermo Ornelas, either in person or by emailing email@example.com on or before June 19th!
Financial Aid Opportunities for Youth Aged 7 to 13
Families who qualify with The Children’s Council of San Francisco are eligible to have the MAS Youth Program covered through the CALWORKS child care subsidy program.
For more information or assistance, please call a Children’s Council Resource & Referral Counselor at (415) 343-3300, between Monday and Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4 PM, or on Friday 8:30 AM to noon.
