Program
September 3 – Kata Miletich
For the past 13 years Kata has been immersed in the fertile Bay Area music scene as the lyricist and voice of LoCura. She has collaborated and recorded with local artists Bang Data, Inspector Gadje, DJ Izzywise & La Misa Negra as well as being an integral member of Bay Area musical collective Istanbul Connection.
Reflecting her own experience of growing up Spanish-American in Spain, Italy and California, her lyrics push the borders of identity and migration piecing together a mosaic of our myriad cultures and experiences. It is this cross-cultural upbringing & her community in the Bay that moves her to speak and sing on issues of migration, hope, and the inherent potential in all of us. When she’s not on stage rocking the mic, you will find her in the kitchen.
September 10 – Jorge Argueta
