Multicultural Arts Summer Youth Program (MAS)

For the 28th consecutive year, the MCCLA will introduce children and youths ages 7 to 13 to various artistic disciplines and local artists with a dynamic and entertaining summer program. Participants will develop hands-on experience with tools and materials related to the chosen artistic discipline, and will collaborate in a final exhibition and performance, entertaining their families and the local community. Participants will be pre-assigned to classes according to their area of interest and availability. Lunch will be provided by DCYF.

Classes offered include Yoga, Hip Hop, Art and Crafts, Theatre, Drumming, Printmaking, Photography, Fashion Design, Latin Grooves, and more! Class availabilities are subject to change.

Schedule

  • 1st Session: June 10 to July 3, 2019
  • 2nd Session: July 8 to August 2, 2019

Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Doors open & check-in begins at 8:30 am. Program starts at 9 am.

After Care is $15 per day, Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Camp Fee

  • $500 for One 4-week Session
  • $50 Sibling Discount

Registration tuition payment can be made by phone or in person at our MCCLA office.

Camp T-shirt included in the fee.

Completion of form does not guarantee admission. Registration is not complete until approved by Summer Camp Director.

Programa de Arte Multicultural de Verano para Jóvenes

Por 28 años consecutivos, el MCCLA presenta MAS, un campamento de verano para jovenes (edades 7-13), introduciendolos a las diversas disciplinas artísticas en un programa dinámico y entretenido. Los Participantes desarrollan una experiencia práctica con el uso de herramientas y materiales relacionados con la disciplina artística elegida, y colaborarán en una presentación final, entreteniendo a las familias de los participantes y a la comunidad local. Los participantes serán pre-asignados a las clases según su área de interés y disponibilidad. Almuerzo provisto por DCYF.

Las clases ofrecidas incluyen yoga, hip hop, arte y manualidades, teatro, percusión, grabado, fotografía, ritmos latinos, diseño de moda y más. La disponibilidad de las clases está sujeta a cambios.

MAS Financial Aid and Scholarship Opportunities

Financial Aid Opportunities for 6th-8th Grade Students

The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts is proud to partner with The Youth Opportunity Scholarships (YOS) program to provide funding to Bay Area Middle School students to pursue inspiring extracurricular enrichment activities. Our goal is to provide opportunities for youth to pursue a passion of their choosing beyond the classroom.

If you are a low-income youth enrolled in the 6th-8th grade at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Art’s MAS youth program, you can apply for a Youth Opportunity scholarship to try something new!

The Youth Opportunity Scholarship program pays for the one MAS program session. For more information, including questions on how to apply please visit the Youth Opportunity Scholarships website. Scholarships are limited; please consider submitting the application material early.

How to apply:

  1. Complete the application for M.A.S Youth Program
  2. Complete the Youth Opportunity Scholarship application by May 31st, including the following:

    • YOS Application
    • Personal Statement
    • Proof of Financial Need, for example: Letter of Free/Reduced Lunch, PG&E Discount Program, Notice of Medi-Cal Eligibility, etc.
  3. Submit all required material to Guillermo Ornelas, either in person or by emailing outreach@missionculturalcenter.org before May 31st!

Financial Aid Opportunities for Youth Aged 7 to 13

Families who qualify with The Children’s Council of San Francisco are eligible to have the MAS Youth Program covered through the CALWORKS child care subsidy program.
