A 12 week experience with talented international painter and printmaker Gustavo Mora. Registration will be limited to 10 students (Mission District students will have preference).

This workshop will be held in the historical Mission Grafica Printmaking Studio on the 4th floor of MCCLA. Students will have a rare chance of working in the studio with international painter and printmaker, Gustavo Mora. Because of the progression of lessons within this specialized class make-up classes will not be possible. Students and parents will be required to sign a commitment to attend all 12 classes after which a printmaking certificate will be issued. Students who complete all 12 classes will be offered time in Mission Grafica under the supervision of studio manager Marsha Shaw.

Gustavo Mora was born in Mexico and studied Studio Arts at the Institute of Visual Arts in Puebla Mexico where he was influenced by Expressionism, Mexican Graphic Arts, as well as, literary and cinematic works. Mora’s work is based on his drawing practice and is applied to different techniques in intaglio, relief printmaking and lithography. He has participated in exhibits and art events in Mexico, Argentina, Cuba, Costa Rica, France, Romania, Greece, the United States and Japan. Mora has been member of the California Society of Printmakers since 2008 and has taught relief printmaking at Mission Grafica.
